Keeping good stuff in use for longer

At Good Sammy, we believe in giving everything and everyone the chance to shine. That’s why we’re proud to play our part in the circular economy, keeping textiles and goods in use for longer and helping reduce the impact on our environment.

From the moment you donate to the moment someone new loves your item, every step helps close the loop. We resell, repurpose and recycle millions of items every year, turning non-saleable textiles into rags, collecting and sorting containers, supporting ethical exports and keeping tonnes out of landfill. Every item we handle also creates opportunities for people with disability to gain skills and work.

The circular economy is good for the planet and good for people.

Our role in the circular economy focuses on reuse, and includes collection (via our truck network) and distribution (through our retail stores).

Through WA’s Containers for Change scheme, we collect and sort millions of bottles and cans every year.
It is a great example of the circular economy in action, keeping resources in use, reducing waste and creating employment for people with disability.

For every eligible container you bring to us, you get 10 cents and we receive an extra 7 cents which is reinvested into creating jobs and social good.

One of our employees interviewed customers to find out why this program means so much to them and to our community. You can read more in our blog.
