Behind-the-Scenes at the “GREAT Sorts” Campaign
Last year, the team at Good Sammy went behind-the-scenes to help make the “GREAT Sorts” campaign, organised by the WA Government.
It was filmed at our Balcatta store with the assistance of Good Sammy Participants, volunteers and employees, and was part of a wider Waste Sorted WA initiative to promote responsible gifting of donations to charities.
Our team was so excited to be a part of such an important campaign! It was a great opportunity for our staff to broaden their employment journey and to work on communication skills, and building confidence.
Our team members first had to audition for a role. Once selected, they were provided with a call sheet and script to familiarise themselves with. On the day of filming, the cast members had to take direction from the Director and Camera Crew producing the ad.
The feedback we received about our team’s ability to take direction was excellent! It demonstrated real progression for our Participants, and we couldn’t be more pleased for them.
The campaign itself stresses the importance of donating to charities the right way – a message that is so important in the fight to reduce waste.
At Good Sammy, we are so grateful for the donations we receive – our organisation couldn’t survive without the generosity of our community! When people donate items that are clean and undamaged, we can sell them to someone else and stop them from going to landfill – contributing to a more sustainable, circular economy.
Thank you to the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, and the Waste Authority, for providing us the opportunity to partner with them.
