NDIS Services

Good Sammy Enterprises is an NDIS Registered Provider (HDS41971). This means under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), we are registered to provide:

  • 0102 Assistance to access and maintain employment or higher education
  • 0106 Assistance in coordinating or managing life stages, transitions and supports
  • 0107 Daily personal activities
  • 0108 Assistance with travel or transport arrangements
  • 0117 Development of life skills
  • 0125 Participation in community, social and civic activities
  • 0133 Specialised supported employment
  • 0136 Group and centre based activities
  • Module 2A: Implementing behaviour support plans

Service delivery for individuals

NDIS participants pay Good Sammy Enterprises to deliver services that are funded from their NDIS Plan by the The National Disability Agency (NDIA).

The services we provide are employment supports.

Employment supports include:

  • Capacity building supports to help participants learn new skills and increase their capability and independence at work. Includes supports designed to assist participants transition into, or change, employment by developing their work-related goals and skills.
  • Ongoing, on-the-job support where participants need frequent help to complete their work tasks and maintain their employment.
  • Social and community participation support for life transition, peer mentoring, making connections in the community or individual skill development to assist with preparing for work.
  • Other supports such as Personal Care, Transport, Assistive Technology and Translating used to prepare for work, attend work and travel to and from work.

Below we have included some information about the various employment support options we provide.

  • Where people with disability are supported to identify opportunities and transition to employment within an open job market.
  • Also involves working with prospective employers to ensure the environment is well suited to the individual.
  • Open employment means a workplace not in an Australian Disability Enterprise (ie., outside Good Sammy).
  • People participating in Open Employment may also be employed at Good Sammy Enterprises at the same time.

We tailor a job to match a person’s skills, interests, strengths and support needs. This includes various stages, including:

  • Stage 1 (Discovery) – up to 60 hours across 6 weeks
    Research process that engages person-centered practice, get to known individual and enable an employment profile.. Gather information. Undertake visits.
  • Stage 2 (Job Carving) – up to 60 hours across 6 weeks
    Use the information from discovery to create a job that suits skills, strengths and interests. Job search planning. Employer engagement. On the job training.
  • Stage 3 (Post Placement Support) – ongoing as required
    On-the-job supports following employment in the carved role, including review meetings with the participant and their employer.

Customised employment can occur within Good Sammy Enterprises or in another employer.

  • An unpaid arrangement designed to give a person an opportunity to observe and participate in the everyday activities of a workplace.
  • Designed to allow the person to build skills, see what tasks they are capable of doing, and help build experience towards employment.
  • Typically, the period of work experience will be 12 weeks or 100 hours.
  • Can occur in all Good Sammy Enterprises’ workplaces, including within social enterprises and corporate services.

  • Also know as “SLES”, this helps young people (Year 12 or recent school leavers up to age 22) with disability prepare, look for and gain employment.
  • Individualised capacity building activities.
  • Can include work experience, vocational specific skills, foundation skills, job customization, employer connection and education, and training courses.
