DRIVE to independence
Good Sammy Enterprises is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Road Safety Commission. Their generous support has enabled Good Sammy to establish the DRIVE Program, to support Western Australians with disability in preparing to obtain a driving licence.
The program is tailored to people with intellectual disability and offers a series of workshops to acquire a Learner’s Permit. Participants will then be able to access practical driving lessons with qualified instructors.
The very first DRIVE program classes were held in Canning Vale and Wanneroo in October. 12 participants were able to get hands on in their first sessions and experienced sitting in the driver’s seat for the first time.
The program runs over 10 sessions. This initiative combines essential road safety education with practical driving experience, ensuring participants gain the skills and confidence needed to drive safely.
