Discover Good Stuff: Our warehouse is more than you’d expect!

Welcome to the action

Good Sammy’s warehouse, Factory Outlet and Containers for Change depot are full of movement and purpose. This is more than just a place where donations are processed. It is a busy hub where people connect, learn and work together to make things happen. From sorting donations and repairing goods to serving customers and processing recyclables, this is a connected space where everyone contributes and no two days are the same.

What you’ll find here

Our warehouse precinct is powered by a collaborative team made up mostly of staff, with a small group of volunteers lending a hand. Together, they take on a wide variety of roles, including:

  • Forklift Operators and Truck Drivers keeping stock moving
  • E-Commerce Assistants preparing online listings
  • Repairers giving jewellery and household items a second life
  • Property Care and Maintenance supporting daily operations
  • Containers for Change staff sorting bottles and cans
  • Factory Outlet retail staff helping customers find great value
  • Donation Sorters working meticulously on the conveyor belt
  • Electrical Testers and Taggers checking donated electronics
  • Resource Recovery Assistants running our in-house laundry and working on other important projects, such as ragging

Every role plays a part in helping donations move from donation hub to store, to shoppers or to recycling, supporting both sustainability and employment.

A place to build skills and try new things

The warehouse is a space where people learn, contribute and grow. Employees are exposed to different job types, and have the opportunity to rotate through different jobs, gaining experience and confidence in a range of areas.

Some might start by sorting donations, then move into repair work or e-commerce. Others begin with container processing and take on a retail role later. With so many job types in one place, there are plenty of opportunities to find out what suits each person best.

A strong connection to community

Our warehouse processes more than 6 million kilos of goods every year. That includes clothing, furniture, books, electronics and more, all sorted and directed to stores, partners or recycling. We do everything we can to minimise landfill.

At the same time, it’s a local hub. Customers visit the Factory Outlet to buy pre-loved items by the kilo. Others drop off containers for refund. We also welcome corporate and community volunteer groups who come in for a day to lend a hand — and often leave with a deeper understanding of our impact. Every visit supports training, employment and environmental action.

Why it matters

The work happening here brings our purpose to life. It supports real jobs for people with disability and creates an inclusive space where people are seen for what they can do.

Every repaired item, packed order or friendly hello at the container depot is part of something bigger — a vibrant, welcoming workplace where every roles makes an important contribution to improving environmental sustainability here in WA.
