Good Sammy relaunches Corporate Volunteering Program
Forget the same-old team building day. Our relaunched Corporate Volunteering Program at our Canning Vale headquarters gives businesses something different: a chance to roll up their sleeves, get behind the scenes, and see inclusion and sustainability in action.
What’s it all about?
When corporate groups join us, they don’t just tour our operations. They become part of them for the day! Here’s what you’ll experience:
- A unique chance to see inclusive employment in action and reflect on how workplaces can embrace diversity.
- A behind the scenes view of resource recovery initiatives shaping WA’s circular economy.
- A rewarding experience that brings teams closer together while aligning with community values.
Our CEO, Kane Blackman, sums it up perfectly:
It is not just a day out of the office. Businesses tell us the experience is eye opening, inspiring and a real conversation starter about what inclusion and sustainability can mean in their own workplace. It brings teams together to connect at a deeper level.”
Why businesses love it
Lots of companies already give their people a day to volunteer. This program takes that to the next level, sparking conversations, building pride, and giving teams an unforgettable experience that lingers long after the day is done.
RAC WA shows the impact
Since April 2024, RAC WA has partnered with Good Sammy through regular corporate volunteering days. To date, more than 195 RAC employees have worked alongside Good Sammy employees with disability to sort and prepare donated goods for sale, while also supporting innovative resource recovery projects. Collectively, RAC has contributed more than 1,000 volunteer hours, representing an in-kind value of $48,500.
RAC’s General Manager, External Relations and Communications, Will Golsby, said the partnership had been transformative for employees.
“Through our dedicated community volunteering program, we offer unique opportunities for our people to donate their time during work hours to support and give back to not-for-profit organisations like Good Sammy.
“These experiences allow our people to listen and learn from local Western Australian organisations, leaving a lasting impression. Our people come away feeling inspired, and with a deeper understanding of how they can contribute to inclusive employment and build sustainable habits, both at work and home.”
