Our impact

Why ESG matters to us

For People. For Planet. For Good.

We’re a charity that creates jobs and training for people with disability.
Through our social enterprises, we extend the life of goods, support reuse and reduce what ends up in landfill.
We operate with care, transparency and integrity. That’s what doing good looks like.

Our approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practice is values-driven.
It goes beyond compliance or reporting, it’s how we work every day to make a lasting impact.
We’ve aligned our goals with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and endorsed leading sustainability frameworks.

Environmental

Turning donations into impact through circular solutions

We process over 6 million kilograms of goods every year.
Most are reused or recycled. Some are transformed into new products.
Our goal is to reduce what goes to landfill and increase local reuse and value.

We’re building a smarter system for resource recovery and our targets are clear:

  • Reduce landfill to 15% of donated materials by 2026–27
  • Cut exports of unsold items to 20%
  • Achieve net zero emissions by 2040

By giving pre-loved goods a second life, we help reduce emissions by around 23,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year. That’s like planting 920,000 trees! This figure includes emissions avoided by reducing the need to produce new clothing and household items, as well as preventing emissions from landfill by keeping these goods in use.

We’ve developed a Resource Recovery Plan to guide our actions.
We’re scaling up practical, local solutions like:

  • Ragging cotton into cleaning cloths
  • Shredding polyester textiles for use in furniture and insulation
  • Repairing and reselling high-value items
  • Expanding sorting, washing and recycling
  • Partnering with exporters to give quality goods a second life overseas

We only work with export partners who meet strict environmental and ethical standards.
Our approach is accredited by Charitable Reuse Australia’s Clothing Reuse Export Accreditation, which recognises safe, traceable and responsible reuse practices.

At the same time, we’re growing local sales to reduce what needs to be exported.
We’re also investing in solar power and low-emissions transport.
Since joining the Containers for Change scheme, we have processed more than 185 million containers!

Our work creates jobs, reduces emissions, and helps drive WA’s circular economy forward.

Social

Creating inclusive jobs and building skills for the future

Our purpose is clear. We create jobs and training for people with disability. We have a vision to transform workplaces and society through disability employment.
We provide real work, training and support across retail, logistics, warehousing, property care and office roles.

More than 50% of our workforce is made up of people with disability.
We help people grow their confidence, independence and career options.
When someone is ready to transition into open employment, we support that next step.

We also share our knowledge more broadly.
We deliver disability awareness training to businesses and build partnerships that support access and inclusion.
Our Lived Experience Advisory Committee helps guide our work and ensure our practices reflect the voices of people with disability.

We are certified by Social Traders, recognising our commitment to social outcomes and inclusive employment.
