On any given day, the store is a hive of activity, buzzing with workers and bargain hunters who meticulously make their way through the colour blocked racks and themed displays. This bee analogy seems fitting when you see the vibrant interior of the store that’s made up of yellow and white walls adorned with flower decorations and the like. When you enter this store, it’s clear that the staff have gone out their way to make their customers feel welcome and ensure they have a pleasant shopping experience. From the creative window displays and accessible layout, to the clean and bright interior and friendly staff, this store just has a nice feel to it.

Located at the 712 Ranford Road, Good Sammy Southern River is a hotspot for op shoppers who like to make a day of visiting the store and its op shop neighbours, Salvos, Save the Children and Take 2. The store has a huge selection of homewares and pre-loved fashion, including a well-stocked children’s section with Gold Seal kids’ labels such as Seed, Country Road, Rock Your Kid and Milkshake. The adult Gold Seal section is also bursting with designer labels like Marcs, Veronica Maine, Cameo, Self Portrait and Keepsake the Label. This stock changes every day and other labels come and go when the racks are restocked.

We’re employing, training and empowering people with different abilities and helping them achieve their individual goals in life – all the while contributing to sustainability with all aspects of our recycling. That’s pretty awesome.”

It makes Dixie’s day when customers comment on how clean, bright and welcoming the store is and how friendly and helpful her staff are. She and her team love learning about their customers’ diverse cultural backgrounds and helping them find what they’re looking for.
