Work Ready, Work Skills and DRIVE programs starting soon

Are you, or someone you know, living with disability and looking to grow job skills or prepare for employment?

Good Sammy’s training programs are designed to support people with disability to build confidence, learn practical skills, and take positive steps toward employment. With small class sizes and experienced, supportive trainers, our programs provide a welcoming environment where participants can learn at their own pace.

Our next round of courses begins 28 April, with limited places available. Programs run at various times throughout the year, offering flexibility to suit different needs and goals.


Work Ready

The Work Ready program supports people with disability who are preparing to enter the workforce or take the next step in their employment journey.

Through a series of interactive workshops, participants will:

  • Set personalised career goals
  • Learn how to search for job opportunities
  • Create resumes and cover letters
  • Practice interview skills
  • Gain the tools needed to succeed in finding and keeping a job

Work Ready is a 5-week program offered twice a term.


Work Skills

Work Skills focuses on developing the everyday skills needed to participate confidently in the workplace.

Through weekly interactive workshops, participants will learn how to:

  • Understand work routines
  • Learn about workplace health and safety
  • Improve speaking, listening and online communication skills
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues
  • Learn how to work with a diverse team

Work Skills is a 10-week program offered four times a year.


DRIVE

DRIVE supports people with intellectual disability to build road safety knowledge and work toward getting a Learner’s Permit.

Participants attend a series of Keys4Life workshops, learning essential road safety skills in a supportive and accessible setting. After successfully passing the Learner’s Theory Test, participants can progress to practical driving lessons with qualified instructors and complete Practical Driving Assessments.

DRIVE is a 10-week course available in Terms 2, 3 and 4.
