Building inclusive workplaces: Free training for local businesses
Imagine walking into a workplace where everyone feels welcome, valued and able to contribute their skills. That’s the kind of culture more and more organisations are striving for – and this September and October, Good Sammy is helping WA businesses to take practical steps to get there.
With support from the Department of Communities, we’re rolling out free disability awareness training across regional WA. The sessions are hands-on, insightful and designed to give leaders and hiring managers real tools they can use straight away.
What’s on offer?
The two-hour workshops are designed especially for hiring managers and leaders who want practical tools to make their workplace more inclusive. Sessions are interactive and cover:
- Inclusive hiring practices
- Job carving and job customisation
- Developing policies that support diversity and inclusion
By the end, participants will walk away with simple, effective strategies they can apply straight away.

The training is coming to four regional centres:
- Geraldton – 15 September, 1-3pm at Geraldton Multipurpose Centre

Why it matters
Workplaces that embrace disability inclusion open the door to new perspectives, skills and opportunities. They also create stronger connections with customers and communities. These sessions are a chance to learn how small changes can have a big impact – not just for individuals, but for entire organisations.
