Good Sammy expands with two new container recycling depots
Good Sammy Enterprises has expanded its container recycling footprint across Western Australia, taking over operations of two container refund depots in Bibra Lake and Midvale. This expansion strengthens our ability to support people with disability into work while helping local communities recycle with ease.
A warm welcome to new teams
With the addition of the Bibra Lake and Midvale sites, we’ve also welcomed 25 new team members, including 12 people with disability, into our organisation.
CEO Kane Blackman says this milestone reflects our commitment to growing inclusive employment.
We are delighted to join the Bibra Lake and Midvale communities and welcome excitedly the 25 new team members to Good Sammy.”
Creating more opportunities for people with disability
Good Sammy is the largest not-for-profit operator of Containers for Change refund points in WA – something we’re incredibly proud of.
Across our container operations, more than 100 people work with us – and nearly 30% identify as having a disability.
Kane says the need for opportunity remains significant.
With 100,000 people with disability of working age not in employment in WA, we will continue to pursue opportunities that grow employment outcomes and our social enterprises.”
Growing our environmental impact
With the addition of Bibra Lake and Midvale, Good Sammy now operates seven container refund points in WA, complementing our existing locations in Balcatta, Canning Vale, Jurien Bay, Lancelin and Wanneroo.
This expanded footprint increases the number of containers we process each year to 72 million, boosting both our environmental contribution and community impact.
Convenient recycling services
Both new depots operate Monday to Saturday and offer:
- Drive‑through lanes for quick and easy refunds
- Bag drop options for added convenience
Cash refunds are also available at both sites.
We’re committed to making recycling simple and accessible – so everyone can play a part in reducing waste, supporting local jobs, and contributing to a more sustainable WA.
