Good Sammy Day is 7 September!

On 7 September 2026, Good Sammy celebrates 68 years of transforming lives through disability employment.

Good Sammy Enterprises was founded in 1958, driven by a core purpose to create employment opportunities for people with disability in Western Australia. Today, people with disability continue to face significant barriers to work, while millions of kilograms of reusable goods end up in landfill each year. Through our social enterprises, we tackle both challenges, creating employment opportunities while giving donated goods a second life.

WA lights up for Good Sammy!

On 6 and 7 September, landmarks across Perth, Mandurah and Port Hedland will light up yellow to mark Good Sammy Day and celebrate 68 years of creating employment opportunities for people with disability.

From Elizabeth Quay to Fremantle Prison, Western Australia will be glowing yellow in celebration of Good Sammy’s 68 years of impact. We are incredibly grateful to the local councils and organisations helping to shine a light on disability employment this Good Sammy Day.

In the past year, Good Sammy has:

Supported employment for more than 430 people with disability
Served more than 1.2 million customers across Western Australia
Processed 7 million kilograms of donated textiles and household goods
Diverted almost 80% of donated goods from landfill through reuse, repurposing and recycling
Created training and employment pathways that help people with disability build skills, confidence and independence.
