Good Sammy launches new scholarship to help students with disability ‘dare to dream’

A new scholarship from Good Sammy is set to give young people with disability in Western Australia a boost as they prepare for life after school.

The Dare to Dream Scholarship Program, launching in 2026 with support from the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, will help Year 11 and 12 students build confidence, workplace skills, and a clear vision for their future.

Good Sammy Chief Executive Officer, Kane Blackman, said the program was designed to bridge the gap between school and employment.

We know the move from school to work or training can be a big step,” Mr Blackman said.

Dare to Dream will give students the chance to explore career pathways, try new experiences, and see what’s possible for their future.”

Over one semester, scholars will take part in weekly sessions and workplace visits at Good Sammy’s Canning Vale headquarters, connecting with industry mentors and learning about different job and training opportunities. Parents, carers, and school staff will also be involved, creating a strong support network around each student.

The program will run twice per year in 2026 and 2027, with applications for the first intake closing on Friday 26 September 2025.
