Good Sammy opens new store in Busselton, boosting local employment and sustainability

Hello Busselton!
Good Sammy is excited to open its newest store in one of Australia’s fastest growing cities. The Good Sammy Busselton team is led by locals Susan Armstrong and Christie Byles who have breathed new life into the previously vacant space. The new store offers quality pre-loved fashion and homewares, helping residents and tourists reduce their cost of living and their environmental impact.
Good Sammy Chief Executive Officer Kane Blackman noted that since opening in early March, support from the local community had been overwhelming. “We had to bring staff down from our Bunbury store on the first few days because it was so busy in store,” he explained.
More than 20 VIPs from the local community gathered to officially open the store including Wadandi Elder Aunty Gloria who delivered a Welcome to Country.
Good Sammy had been looking to open in Busselton for a number of years. Mr Blackman said opening in Busselton allowed Good Sammy to deliver on its mission to create more employment opportunities for people with disability in the region.

City of Busselton Mayor Phill Cronin said there were more than 8,000 people registered with disability in Busselton. “The City takes great pride in embracing inclusivity and diversity. Good Sammy’s presence strengthens that commitment in the most meaningful way,” he commented.
Guests Hon Nola Marino MP and Libby Mettam MLA both endorsed the new store. Hon Nola Marino described the store as “beautiful” and “so important” for disability employment.
Ms Mettam expressed that it was fantastic to see Good Sammy in Busselton. “It’s more than a job, it’s really helping people in so many different ways,” she said.
Good Sammy Busselton is located at 81 West St Busselton. The store will trade 7 days per week: Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm, and Sunday 12noon – 4.30pm.
