Body

The National Disability Insurance Scheme, or NDIS, is a ground-breaking change to how Australia funds and delivers disability services. As a Medicare-type system, the NDIS will provide people with disability and their families and carers with the regular care, support, therapy and equipment they need from a secure and consistent pool of funds.

It's focused on helping people with disability achieve independence, reach goals and realise dreams.

At Good Sammy we believe in a better future for people with disability, and NDIS is fundamental in achieving this vision. We are an accredited NDIS Provider, providing disability employment services in Perth and WA. We work closely with the NDIS and various Government departments to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved for our participants.

Are you new to NDIS or not sure if you qualify for the scheme?

The following are the eligibility criteria, but of course you can always call the Good Sammy team on (08) 9463 0562 and we can help you check.

1. You need to be between 7 and 65 years to access NDIS.

If you have a child with a permanent disability or developmental delay, you can still access NDIS through its early childhood approach. Those above 65 years with a permanent disability may be eligible for services like My Aged Care.

2. You need to be an Australian citizen, a permanent Visa holder, or a protected special category Visa holder to become eligible for NDIS.

The NDIS would require your proof of disability at the time of applying for the insurance scheme. Some of the impairments and disabilities that come under this scheme are neurological, intellectual, psychiatric, physical, sensory, and cognitive disorders.

Next step is to access the NDIS.  At any time during this process, you can call Good Sammy to help or phone NDIS direct on 1800 800 110.

If you think you are eligible and meet the criteria and would like to become a participant, you can either:

There are two parts to the application form.

The first part of the form contains some questions, like your name, contact number, address, type of disability, and the number of years of disability.

Your doctor, education or health professional needs to fill out the second part of the form. The NDIS may also ask you to submit additional documents supporting your application.

If you need any more information about NDIS or how to access it, you can contact one of the most experienced disability employment service providers in Western Australia, Good Sammy.
