Good Sammy congratulates our Chair Trent Bartlett FAICD for being named by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) as this year’s winner of the PwC Director Award for Excellence in the Metro WA Not-for-Profit Sector.
The award recognises the outstanding contribution of a Perth-based director for their leadership on director issues and promotion of excellence in governance to achieve a positive impact for society.
Mr Bartlett said via his LinkedIn page he was humbled to win the award.
“My reflection is that while being personally singled out in this way is both a wonderful personal and professional milestone - it is incredibly humbling when I think of others I know well - or know of - and what they have done in the NFP Sector. They work passionately and intentionally year after year to make our communities a better place.
“There are too many people that I should recognise and thank - who have helped me during my Director Journey - and specifically within the NFP sector.
“WA is well known for our resources sector and the amount of hi vis you see being worn in our state is a constant reminder of its importance to our economy.
“You might imagine for one moment that if everyone who worked in the NFP sector - whether they are paid or as a volunteer - wore their own unique version of high vis - perhaps then, we might truly appreciate their impact amongst us in our communities - quietly giving their time for a cause and not seeking applause.”
Australian Institute of Company Directors WA State Manager Carl Cockerham GAICD said Mr Bartlett continued to make a valuable contribution to Western Australia’s corporate and public life.
“This award is due recognition of Trent’s commitment over nearly two decades to the important work of the not-for-profit sector and the expertise that he’s brought to his many board positions over this time.”
