Congratulations to our CEO Kane Blackman for being named a 2023 Community Services Excellence Awards finalist.
The Community Services Excellence Awards take place biennially and recognise the outstanding work and achievements of the community services sector in WA. The awards program commemorates the positive difference made to people, families and communities through innovative and creative practice.
Kane is a finalist in the Excellence in Leadership category. This award recognises a leader who has demonstrated great innovation and guidance in their organisation or community, and has contributed to the significant improvement to the lives of people and communities they serve. The winner of this award will automatically be nominated in the Australian of the Year Awards – WA Division.
There were more than 120 individual and organisational nominations in the 2023 awards from a range of service delivery areas including health, children and families, housing and homelessness, youth, mental health, multicultural support, emergency and food relief, alcohol and other drugs, family and domestic violence, disability and Aboriginal wellbeing.
The awards presentation ceremony will take place on Monday 1 May at Optus Stadium to conclude the first day of the 2023 WACOSS Conference. Tickets to the awards are on sale through www.cseawards.org.au/registration.
