We have more than doubled our presence and retail offering in Fremantle with our expansive new store at 13-19 William Street.
The new 1,145sqm store is Good Sammy’s largest south of the river and will open for trading at 9am on Saturday 19 November.
The William Street store replaces our High Street shop, which we have operated since 2014. That store will cease trading on Friday 18 November to coincide with the opening of the William Street store the following day. Staff and volunteers from the High Street store will transition across to the William Street shop.
Our newest store is fully integrated with an expanded retail offering for customers, including the addition of furniture in-store. There is also a Containers for Change collection point and donation drop off point via a rear access laneway, as well as a community space for upcycling and recycling workshops and other activations like temporary pop up markets promoting goods and services produced by Fremantle residents and people with disability.
Central to the William Street store’s design is a full inclusion and accessibility offering. Features include auto sliding doors, wheelchair accessible change rooms and wide aisles.
Our Chief Executive Officer Kane Blackman said Good Sammy was excited to relocate from High Street to William Street given the much larger footprint, enhanced street frontage and capacity to provide more employment and training avenues for people with disability.
“Good Sammy is committed to Fremantle and we’re thrilled to now have a significantly bigger presence within the city’s evolving retail centre,” Mr Blackman said.
“Our William Street store is nearly two and a half times the size of our old High Street store and was designed with accessibility and the people of Fremantle front of mind, given the community is at the forefront of upcycling, recycling, thrifting and sustainability.
“This store is a little different to the standard Good Sammy blueprint – it feels uniquely Fremantle.”
Good Sammy is encouraging local businesses, schools and community groups to partner and collaborate with us at our new Fremantle store. Opportunities include hosting donation drives for quality clothes, furniture and homewares, volunteering at the store and using the store’s Containers for Change service.
